Hello, I'm Rory Hayman and thanks for visiting my store. My wife Sherry and I live in Spearfish, South Dakota in the beautiful Northern Black Hills and just outside mighty Spearfish Canyon, where I draw most of my photographic inspiration.

Since retiring and moving to South Dakota, my wife and I spend a great deal of time exploring and hiking the many well known (and not so well known) areas of Spearfish Canyon and the Black Hills. I believe landscape beauty can be found anywhere if you can learn to "see" and not just "look" (even in your own backyard). That is why much of my work is more intimate in nature. When I find a composition I like, I'll imagine how it might look at different times of the day, different weather conditions and at different seasons of the year. I'll return to that location again and again in an effort to capture the scene in it’s varying states throughout the year.

My landscape photos have won several awards, the most prestigious of which was at the annual Dahl Mountain Photo Exhibition in Rapid City, South Dakota where my image “Swimming Leaves” took first place in the Experienced / Professional category.
